Reliable and safe data deletion of all data carriers while complying with the requirements pursuant to the BSI Grundschutzhandbuch (safety handbook) M2.167 or DoD 5220.22-M is a central element of returning used IT-equipment. However, data security involves more than just deleting data. What happens to your data carriers during the return process? Who has access to certain parts, e.g. during transport? How can human error be ruled out? What happens to defective equipment or defective data carriers and how can complete and error-free documentation be ensured at all times?
From dismantling at the current location to resale or recycling - only a seamless, retraceable overall process adapted to your specific security requirements can ensure comprehensive data safety for all data carriers, whether they are functional or defective, including PCs, copiers, fax machines and smartphones.
