Data security for all replaced data carriers is a significant aspect of returning used IT-products. EURATECH utilizes a certified process, developed over more than 10 years, to delete your data reliably and safely.

All requirement stipulated in the BSI "Grundschutzhandbuch" (safety handbook) as well as DoD 5220.22-M are adhered to. Depending on the order we use the Blancco Datacleaner of ToolStar Test deletion software. The desired security level governs the number of complete overwriting processes and the selected deletion procedure:

• German Standard VSTIR/BSI Method (3x or 7x overwrite)
• US Department of Defense Sanitizing (DOD 5220.22-M)
• US Department of Defense Sanitizing (DOD 5220.22-M ECE)
• Peter Gutmann's Algorithm (35x overwrite)

We have integrated the deletion software into a network-supported overall process. Human error can therefore be ruled out. Defective data carriers are mechanically destroyed and shredded on site.Complete documentation including deletion protocols, digital pictures and serial number-based destruction certificates of data carriers are a matter of course.

Apart from the actual deletion of data carriers, it is important to have an integrated security approach. The analysis of danger potential (e.g. human error, transport, etc.) and the verification of various information and data during the entire return process are of crucial importance.
