Data Deletion in the Data Centre

Data centres are data repositories for a range of sensitive company data and personal data. The protection and secure deletion of these data play a crucial role at the end of the useful life of servers and storage systems.

Our data deletion concept includes the complete decommissioning of the server and storage systems – from removal at the place of application through to the seamless reporting of the data destruction. Our modular service concept covers all steps of the process and provides data security for your individual security requirement:

Destruction of Data Media

Data media often have to be physically destroyed. Our mobile shredder allows data media to be destroyed on-site and satisfies all of the requirements of the new DIN standard 66399 in line with the maximum protection class 3, security level 5, particle size H-5. This allows storage devices with data media, with confidential information of existential importance for a company, to be permanently destroyed.

Our lorry travels to your location and shreds the data media on your company premises, under the supervision of a notary or a data protection officer if desired. Following the successful destruction, you receive a destruction certificate, including a list of the individual serial numbers of the data media. Upon request, we can also provide video documentation of the destruction of the data media.

Data Deletion

Compliance with all of the stipulations in the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) Baseline Protection Manual M2.167 as well as DoD 5220.22-M is ensured. Depending on the order, we use the Blancco Datacleaner of ToolStar Test deletion software. The desired security level governs the number of complete overwriting processes and the selected deletion procedure.

We have integrated the deletion software into a network-based overall process. Human error can therefore be ruled out. Defective data media are mechanically destroyed and shredded on-site. Seamless documentation, incl. deletion logs, digital images and proof of destruction based on the serial number of the data medium, are provided as a matter of course.

From the purchase of used IT-equipment to trade-in programs and services as well as disposal – EURATECH has the right solution and provides security due to long-term experience.

As a certified waste specialist pursuant to Sections 56 and 57 of the Closed Substance Cycle and Waste Management Act (KrWG) and as participant in the “Umweltpakt Bayern” (Environmental Pact of Bavaria), sustainable economic management is a key focus of our activities. Particularly the handling of used and defective IT-equipment requires a high degree of responsibility and security, not least because of the data contained. Data carriers from defective devices and defective hard discs go also through our data security process like functioning systems.

We practice an active environmental management system according to DIN ISO 14001 and meet the requirements of WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive).

Trade-In Programs

Where new systems will be purchased, there are also used systems. In addition to returning and recycling the products to be exchanged, an active Trade-In program offers ways to provide added value to your customers. Increase your sales, by trading-in used products from your customers and providing them an extra budget to buy your products while at the same time offering a reliable solution for the processing of their used systems and data carriers.

With many years of experience we can support you with the execution of such a program.

We collect the IT systems from your customer, check the devices and determine their current value, delete your customer’s data (e.g. pursuant to BSI (Federal Office for Information Security) M2.167 or DoD 5220.22-M) and provide all the necessary information on the used devices that have been traded in. Additionally, we provide you with an appropriate platform to actively market your trade-in program and take care of it. The processing of payments to your customers as well as the environmentally friendly disposal of non-marketable products is also part of our services.

Remarketing

Obsolete IT products, leasing returns or returned products – most of these devices still have a certain value. EURATECH with its international sales network and product specialists assist you with the optimal marketing of your used IT devices, from PCs to mainframe units.

We provide three options to ensure that you receive a maximum return:

We sell the products on your behalf for a defined commission
We sell your products on a commission basis with a pre-agreed profit share
We buy your IT devices for a fixed price and take the complete marketing risk

No matter which option you choose, all sales-related tasks including customer service, transport and warranty processing will be handled by us, as part of our remarketing offerings. Detailed test and audit reports providing all technical details and prices of the equipment (to be) sold are the basis of our billing. This gives you an overview of the composition of revenues for each unit and you have absolute security right to the end of the process.

The still existing value of use of the existing hardware is often a determinant for the decision to replace devices – many times the value is higher than expected, and additional “budgets” are available through the sale.

Roll-Out & Roll-Back Management

As part of our roll-back solutions, we take over the entire return of your IT landscape, from PCs to comprehensive storage solutions. We handle the proper removal at the current location, the secure transport as well as data deletion and all activities associated with the return of your devices to be replaced.
In addition, we offer our roll-out management solution. EURATECH prepare your new equipment for use in your offices, including transport to each workplace and setup on-site. We check the delivered new systems, assemble these for the respective areas of application according to the roll-out plan, install your individual software and hardware package, take care of the logistics and install and commission the devices on-site. And at the same time the devices to be returned are removed and immediately processed via our roll-back process which avoids unnecessary storing of used devices, including undeleted data carriers and information they contain.
